Ceramic Materials & Their Customized Ceramic Components

Ceramic components are turning out to be the leading material used to build up kinds of machines. There are different kinds of ceramic materials which are used to make several machinery parts. It can be used to make high traffic railings, components of the space shuttle and oxygen sensors and ceramic inserts.

Benefits of Customization

Customization can help you to get ceramic components of any shape and kind. Moreover, it helps to build different components for a number of applications. The availability of the spray drying and scale milling equipment helps many companies to develop ceramic components in lesser costs.

Ceramic is flexible thus can be used in making the tiniest of objects to the largest materials. Given following are some ceramic materials and their uses in different spectrums.

Alumina Ceramic

Alumina Ceramic is also known as Aluminum Oxide. It is the leading ceramic materials which are used in different applications. It can be used in automotive sensors, electronic and components used in the pump.

The ceramic components made of Alumina are manufactured using different techniques such as injection molding, extrusion, uniaxial pressing, and isostatic pressing.  In terms of physical properties, it has outstanding mechanical and electrical strength. It is wear and corrosion resistant.

Applications of Alumina are diverse like it is used in making Pump sales and components, Aerospace components, corrosion resistant inserts etc.

Cordierite Ceramic

Cordierite is a ceramic material comprising of the Magnesium Aluminum Silicate. Its physical features include low thermal expansion and conductivity. It has efficiency in Thermal shock resistance and the dielectric strength is high.

Applications of Cordierite Ceramic materials are diverse. It can be used as Thermocouples, electrical insulators and heating element supports.

Cordierite ceramic materials can be flexibly curved into a number of geometries. It can be easily done by the processes of extrusion, axial pressing, axial pressing etc.

Zirconia Ceramic

It is not a ceramic but remains as a crystal in room temperatures. Yttrium Oxide can stabilize Zirconia to form a ceramic. This ceramic can be used in a number of applications. The main advantage of the Zirconia ceramic is that it is inert chemically.

Some leading physical properties of Zirconia are it has strength, it can rarely face toughness, it is highly resistant to corrosion and abrasion.

Some applications which the Zirconia ceramic can be used for are making valves of different machines, bearings, and filters. Tools for cutting can also be manufactured by the by the Zircon ceramic. Several components of the pump are also made by the Zircon ceramic these days.

Steatite Ceramic

The Steatite is a material composed of magnesium silicate. It is used to make the insulators. It can be used to make different aerospace materials. Steatite can also be used as electrical inserts in the appliances.

A low Loss Steatite variant is also available which comes with lower dielectric loss.

Applications of the Steatite are multiple as it can be used in electrical insulators, standoff insulators, and spacers etc.

So, these are some ceramic components which can be customized widely and used for different purposes.
